Metalloys (BHP Billiton) Senior Phase Maths and Science Project

CASME has partnered with Metalloys to support teaching and learning in mathematics and science for Grades 8 and 9 teachers in the Sedibeng East district of Gauteng.
 

The project focuses on 10 schools in the district and will run for two years starting in 2011.

The project will provide teacher training workshops, in classroom support as well as resources for teaching and learning.

The project goal and objectives are:

GOAL: To improve learner performance in science and mathematics through teacher training and development.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To improve teacher  knowledge in Science and mathematics
  • To improve classroom teaching in Science and Mathematics
  • To provide basic Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) for Science and Mathematics.
